Call to Reinstate Dictatorship in Iraq

From our old friend Henry Kissinger. From the LA Times:

Former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger, a frequent advisor to President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, has concluded that the United States must choose between stability and democracy in Iraq — and that democracy, for now, is out of reach.
[emphasis mine]

Wow, things sure have changed from spreading democracy throughout the Middle East to installing compliant dictators. Isn't this where the trouble started in the first place? Still, at least he acknowledges that the US isn't winning in Iraq:

"As long as [Bush] was told he was winning, he had every reason to pursue the recommended strategy. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that what we're seeing now would be an odd appearance for a victory."

Try telling that to the fruitcakes.

Of course, this is nothing more than a shift from the neo-cons to Daddy's friends. From forcing democracy to installing dictators. Will the right ever learn from past mistakes?? I guess not.
