Some Things Never Change......

The past week has seen two examples of the lengths that the right will go in order to hold on to power. First came the campaign video by the Popular Party in Spain. The PP are trying to persuade the Spanish that violent crime is rising under PSOE (the 'socialist' party). The problem is, they do this through lies and deceit. Their video uses footage of riots in Barcelona that occurred before PSOE came to power, as well as footage of a shoot-out in Colombia. Below is a (admittedly poor quality) clip of a news report showing extracts from the video.

Then there is this, from the BBC:

Italian prosecutors have launched an inquiry into claims that the government of ex-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi tried to rig April's general elections.

This inquiry is in response to a documentary that claims that blank ballots were fraudulently counted in favour of Mr Berlusconi's centre-right coalition. Below is a short clip from this documentary:

All of this, and the fraudulent elections in Mexico and America. It is about time that people woke up to the threat that many on the right pose for democracy.
