Another story I have previously commented on has had some disturbing developments today. I have previously commented on the case of Sandy Mitchell, Les Walker and Bill Sampson who were tortured in Saudi Arabia and tried to claim compensation. Well the government won their case in court today and they will not be able to claim compensation from Saudi Arabia. So now we can see for ourselves quite how seriously our government takes torture ie not very. After the allegations contained in the EU report regarding renditions, it is becoming increasingly clear that this 'socialist' government has no interest in dealing with torture. This is particularly true when it applies to allies in the 'War on Terror'. Looks like this 'war' is a front for every possible human rights abuse western governments can consider. Still I suppose fighting inhumanity with inhumanity makes sense, well if you are a simple minded Western leader that is.
