Take action on forced labour in Bolivia

Thousands of people from the indigenous Guaraní community are in forced labour on private ranches in southern Bolivia. The new Government is taking some steps to address this problem, but it remains important to keep up the pressure on this important issue.

The Reality of Slavery

As a response to the 200 year anniversary of the abolition of slavery, I have added a link to Antislavery.org in my sidebar. According to some estimates, there are at least 12 million people in slavery (including in the UK) despite the abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Antislavery.org is currently asking people to sign a declaration to:

join the fight for freedom, to commemorate the Transatlantic Slave Trade and its abolition, address its legacies, and work for the eradication of all forms of slavery today, which affect at least 12 million people around the world.
