Following on from the last post, there is a petition currently running at the Downing Street E-Petition site calling on the government to take action against BSkyB. The petition states:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Ban any moves made by BSkyB attempting to take control of ITV and force BSkyB to sell its 18% stake in ITV whilst also supporting Vigin Media in its attempts at absorbing ITV; creating a rival to the BSkyB monopoly that is able to report freely on current events without editorial constraints enforced by News Corporation.
So far, the petition has only received 177 signatories. To be even taken seriously it needs at least 200. If you want to make your voice heard (and yes, these e-petitions can seem pointless), I suggest you head on over there now and sign the petition.
