Troop Withdrawal

It all sounds so promising:

Blair announces Iraq troops cut

Declares the article on the BBC. The opening also sounds encouraging:

Prime Minister Tony Blair has told MPs that 1,600 British troops will return from Iraq within the next few months.

Wow, next few months? Does this mean that troops will be out by the end of the year? No.

"The UK military presence will continue into 2008, for as long as we are wanted and have a job to do."

So not exactly a confirmation of a programme of withdrawl, eh? And what do the public think?

(via the BBC)

Meanwhile, Demark are removing all their troops. Guess we will have to wait until Bush gives the ok.
