A Cuban-American has been convicted of storing weapons in preparation for an attempted coup in Cuba. Santiago Alvarez was jailed for conspiring to possess arms including machine guns and a grenade launcher. The FBI also found C-4 plastic explosives that are linked to Alvarez. Of course, given the seriousness of the charges, and given the administration's 'War on Terror' you would expect some pretty hefty sentences for such a crime. In fact, Alvarez has only been sentenced to 47 months imprisonment. Maybe it is because he is a long standing associate of Posada.
