Democracy for the Establishment

It is fascinating to watch the establishment attack Russia at the moment. Politicians and the media gleefully report on the erosion of democracy and the attacks on free speech in Russia. And yet, what is the establishment proposing in this country?? According to The Guardian:

Police are to demand new powers to arrest protesters for causing offence through the words they chant and the slogans on their placards and even headbands.

And this is what they term democracy and the exorcising of free speech?? Maybe we are closer to the supposed Russian model than we think.
