CIA Admits Lack of Evidence on Iran

The CIA has confirmed that it has no conclusive evidence that Iran is developing nuclear arms, according to the BBC. And once again, our political leaders are determined to dismiss the intelligence agencies. Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, writing in The New Yorker, cites a secret CIA report based on various intelligence sources, icluding satellite images. The report seems to contradict the views of the White House. The article itself suggests that the White House was dismissive of the CIA report. Hersh wrote:

"The CIA found no conclusive evidence, as yet, of a secret Iranian nuclear weapons program running parallel to the civilian operations that Iran has declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency."

He added:

"A current senior intelligence official confirmed the existence of the CIA analysis, and told me that the White House had been hostile to it."

Sound familiar???
