Thom Yorke - The Eraser

Today saw the release of the album by Thom Yorke, The Eraser. Of course I went and bought it, it's been so long since a Radiohead type release and I can't wait for the next one. So far I have only heard this in the car (not a good place to hear any Radiohead effort - unless you want to drive off into the grass verge and end your life!!) but it is very reminiscent of Kid A era Radiohead. All electronica and downbeat lyrics. Which is cool by me as I was quite a fan of their Kid A material - I prefer their more experimental stuff, I was no big fan of The Bends or Pablo Honey.

The artwork itself is really cool. It opens out to show an apocalyptic scene of London being swept away by a great flood, with only a King Cnut type figure standing in the way. I love albums that have cool artwork. Both Radiohead and Pearl Jam put a lot of thought into their album artwork and every album is so special. To get more of an idea of the artwork check out the official website. I would say that if you liked Kid A/Amnesiac then you will like this album too. If not, don't touch it!!
